Dovie Melton, 72, Cumberland County, KY (1946-2019) She was a member of Red Banks United Methodist Church, and a retired dietary department employee in the Cumberland County School System. Dovie Melton, age 72 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky. Funeral Service will be Monday, February 18, 2019 at 1pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Short's Chapel Cemetery. Family requests visitation on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 4-9pmCT. Dovie was born on April 14, 1946 in Cumberland County, KY to the late Willie C. Fluty and Rutha May Killman Fluty. She was a member of Red Banks United Methodist Church, and a retired dietary department employee in the Cumberland County School System. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Welby Melton, one infant brother, Charles Fluty, and a special uncle, Jim Fluty. Survivors Include: One Son - Danny Joe Melton and wife Patricia of Burkesville, KY One Daughter - Eva Christensen and her husband Jason of Crestview, FL Two Brothers - Arvil G. Fluty and Cordell Fluty and his wife Brenda all of Burkesville, KY One Sister - Norma Lacy and her husband Brad of Lexington, KY Three Grandchildren - Stephen Alexander Scott, Cheyenne Spears, and Braxton Spears Five Nieces - Patricia Owens, Tammy Hall, Kathy Haver, Heather Lacy, and Kimberly Cantu, Two Nephews - Donnie Fluty and Bradley Lacy Special Friend - Junior Branham and family and a host of other relatives and friends Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
