Lee Olus Bronston Warf, Sr, Green County, KY (1933-2019)

He was a Veteran of the Korean War, having served in the United States Army from 1953-1955, and a businessman. After coming home from the service, he attended Campbellsville College where he meet his wife Elma who survives.

Lee Olus Bronston Warf, Sr. of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Lee Olus Warf and Iva Gertrude Slinker Warf, departed this life on Thursday, February 14, 2019 in Louisville. He was 86 years and 11 days of age.

The funeral will be at 3pmCT Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow on his beloved farm in the Kessler Cemetery. Visitation is requested after 12:30pm Sunday until time of the funeral service. Pallbearers are: Lile Warf, Brandon Warf, Brett Daugherty Miniard, Jerrod Miniard and Ronnie Daughterty.



He was born on Friday, February 3, 1933 in Green County. He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a 31 year member of the Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown where he was active in numerous positions. He was a 19 year member of Trammel Creek Baptist Church where he served as Deacon under his son. Mr. Warf retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company, and then built Bronston's Food Mart and Bronston's Coin Laundry in Elizabethtown along with his sidekick daughter by his side.

He fulfilled a dream of his and his youngest son to purchase his grandparents farm (Gilbert and Leatha Davis Slinker), where Bronston was born and where he also lived for almost 24 years. Mr. Warf was also a Veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. After coming home from the service, he attended Campbellsville College where he meet his wife.

Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Elma Inez Line Warf of Greensburg, having united in marriage on September 3, 1956.

Two sons and daughters-in-law: - Rev. Lee and Deborah Warf, and Lile and Ivy Warf all of Greensburg; a daughter and son-in-law: Lisa Jo and Ronnie Daugherty of Elizabethtown Five grandchildren and their spouses - Brandon and Jueun of Florida, Brent and Jessica Warf of Glasgow, Brett Daugherty Miniard and Jerrod Miniard of Elizabethtown, Anna Marie Warf, and Avery Ruth Warf both of Greensburg Five great-grandchildren - Mason Warf, Quincy Warf, Charlotte Warf, Cheyenne Warf and Hailee Miniard A sister and brother-in-law - Joanna and Nelson Moore of Campbellsville A brother - Curtis H. Warf of Lexington; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a grandchild: Adeline Faith Warf on April 6, 2018; and a sister: Odellia Curry.

Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
