Showers and thunderstorms are likely today, then showers after 2pmCT. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain, and a flood watch is in effect for the area through late tonight. Expect water issues in low lying and poor drainage areas. Some smaller creeks and streams will likely see quick rises, and longer duration river flooding is likely to continue into next week. Today's high is expected to be near 73F. Breezy, with a southwest wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 16 to 21 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%, with new precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, or even higher in thunderstorms. The chance of showers will continue through midnight, with a big drop in temperature. Tonight's low is expected to be around 26F. Southwest wind 14 to 20 mph becoming west in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph. The overnight chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch are possible. On Friday, expect sunny skies, with a high near 34F. West wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Friday night will see a drop into the teens, before things begin to warm back up slightly.
