LWC Basketball hosts Campbellsville Saturday By Benjamin Riegger The Lindsey Wilson men and women's basketball teams host Campbellsville University in the Battle of Highway 55 on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. The women's game tips off at 2pmCT followed by the men's game at 4pmCT. The No. 20-ranked women (16-6, 6-2 in the Mid-South Conference) continue conference action after a close 59-56 victory over Georgetown (KY) on Thursday night at Biggers Sports Center. Reagan Turner led the Blue Raiders attack with 20 points and four assists, while also going 8-for-8 from the foul-line. J'Nayah Hall recorded her third double-double this season with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Hall also led the team defensively with four steals during the contest. Heidi Huffman managed 10 points to round out the Blue Raiders in double-figures. Gerda Paulauskaite led the team off the glass with 12 rebounds as well as recorded 5 blocks on the defensive end of the court. Turner moves up in the national ranks with a No. 4 ranking in NAIA Division I in total scoring with 446 points this season. She also ranks No. 6 in points per game averaging 20.3 points per contest. Paulauskaite ranks in the top-10 nationally as well with a No. 6 ranking in blocks per game (2.8) along with a No. 7 ranking in total blocks (59). No. 4-ranked Campbellsville (22-2, 8-0 MSC) visits Biggers Sports Center after defeating Cumberland (Tenn.) 67-42 on the road on Thursday. The Tigers were led by Savannah Gregory, who scored 25 points and tallied five steals. Madison Faulkner was the only other Campbellsville student-athlete with double-digit points with 11. Faulkner also led the team on the glass with eight rebounds. The Tigers lead the NAIA Division I in total assists (512), assists per game (21.3) and in total scoring offense (2,126). Individually, Caitlin Hall sits on top of the national ranks in NAIA Division I in total assists (183) and assists per game (7.6). Hall includes a No. 5 ranking in assist/turnover ratio (3.1). Gregory also ranks in the top-10 nationally with a No. 3 ranking in total steals (95) and a No. 5 ranking in steals per game (3.9). Saturday's matchup is the 75th meeting between the two programs. Campbellsville holds a 54-20 record over Lindsey Wilson. The last meeting happened on Jan. 12th, where the Tigers bested the Blue Raiders 75-64 at Campbellsville. The Blue Raider men's basketball (12-11, 3-5 MSC) returns to action after falling to No. 8- ranked Georgetown (KY) on Thursday evening 104-91. JR Adams led the Blue Raiders with 19 points, five rebounds and three assists. Kel Stotts paced Adams with 18 points, three assists and three steals. Three other Blue Raider student-athletes notched double-figures in this matchup. Matthew Eldridge and Payton Cundiff each notched 17 points while Shakaris Laney tallied 13 points. As for the team effort, LWC is ranked eighth in the NAIA in total three-point field goals made with 230. The Blue Raiders rank eighth in the NAIA in three-point field goal defense, holding opponents to a 30.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Campbellsville (17-6, 3-5 MSC) returns to action after defeating Cumberland (Tenn.) 76-69 on Thursday evening. Hagan Tyler leads the Tigers offensive efforts averaging 19.7 points per game. Tyler is ranked No.1 in NAIA in total three-point field goals made with 82. The Tigers defensive efforts is led by Stephaun Adams, who is ranked first in the NAIA in total steals with 54. Campbellsville is averaging 88.4 points per game while shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from beyond the arc. The Tigers defense is containing opponents to 69.7 points per game, while holding their opponents to 40.2 percent shooting from the field and 32.5 percent from beyond the arc. Saturday's meeting marks the 70th matchup, with Campbellsville leading the overall series 39-30. The last meeting occurred on January 12, in which the Blue Raiders fell 82-64 to Campbellsville.
