Skies set to become clear, but with bitter cold today

It's currently 19F at the Adair County Mesonet station. There are snow showers at this posting 5amCT. It should gradually become sunny during the morning. Temperatures will remain in the mid-teens, with wind chill values as low as -6F, west wind 9 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

This evening, there is a chance of flurries before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 8F. Wind chill values could be as low as -2F. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Thursday will be partly sunny, with a high near 32F, but wind chill values as low as 5F. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph.

Thursday night brings a slight chance of snow showers after midnight, mixing with rain after 3amCT. Thursday's overnight low should be around 27F, with a light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the evening. The chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunshine makes our hills look pretty and makes the weather more bearable, with temperatures below freezing and heading down to our lowest so far this year. The Annex will remain open for anyone who needs help staying warm overnight.
