Child danger - know what to look for in human trafficking Enticing and stealing children to be sold into networks of slavery and sex - unthinkable in a small town, right? Our law enforcement officers say human trafficking is happening right here, right now, and every one of us should know what to look for and how to help. By Robbie Harmon, Dean of Students/Director of Pupil Personnel Adair County Public Schools A training workshop at 5pmCT Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street in Columbia will provide citizens the tools to identify and report suspected trafficking activities. Please help us spread the word so that everyone can know about the dangers of human trafficking and the tactics predators are using to lure children in. Adair County Schools and Adair County Schools Family Resource/Youth Service Centers in partnership with the Lake Cumberland Children's Advocacy Center and the Kentucky Attorney General's Office will be presenting this Internet Safety program focused Human Trafficking Awareness. The presenter will be Allyson Taylor with the Office of Child Abuse and Human Trafficking Prevention and Prosecution through the office of the Attorney General. Community awareness and involvement is the best way to end trafficking. This training will give parents and community members the tools to identify and report suspected trafficking activities and the knowledge to identify when those you know or love are being recruited by traffickers. The workshop will be held at 5pmCT Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY - for more information, call 270.384.2476 ext 2014.
