Class Which Gave Adair County Two County Judges, A Judge's Wife, And A Fairplay This article first appeared in issue 17, and was written by Staff. The full title appeared as: Class which gave Adair County two County Judges, a Judge's wife, and a Fairplay Mayor to hold reunion. The Adair County High School Class of 1962 will hold a reunion on November 29, 1997, at 6:00 p.m., at Pinewood Country Club. This class may be the only one in Adair County history to have contributed two county judges, James Brock, elected in 1979 and served 4 years, and Jerry Vaughan, elected in 1993 and is still in office. In addition, Marsha Brock, now Mrs. Richard L. Walker, was Adair County's First Lady for eight years. "Don't forget," reunion co-organizer John R. Pendleton, CPA, said, "we also have the ex-Mayor of Fairplay, Amon Spoon, among our classmates." Mr. Pendleton said that the class includes a pediatrician, a CPA, two state policemen, two pharmacists, several distinguished educators, successful business people, and others who have made the high school proud. The class officers in 1962 were Charles Gore, president, William Bryant, vice president, Charlotte Cheatham, secretary, and Brenda Kay Burton, treasurer. Brooks Coomer was Adair County High School Principal in 1962. Remembrances will be for Patti Houk and Connie Booher. Those who have not already made arrangements to attend should contact either John R. Pendleton, 933 Russell Road Ste 101, Columbia, KY 42728, phone 502-384-4190, or Ricky Nell England Clutterbuck at 502-384-4863.
