Mary Frances Thorpe, 81, Jamestown, KY (1937-2019)

She was a member of Jamestown First Baptist Church and the Secretary for many years.

Mary Frances Voils Thorpe, 81, of Jamestown, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the Russell County Hospital.

The funeral service for Mary Frances Thorpe will be held at 10amCT on Monday, January 14, 2019, at the Jamestown First Baptist Church, 165 W Cumberland Ave, Jamestown, KY, with Bro. Billy Dunbar and Bro. Scott Russell officiating. Interment will be in the Flanagan Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 5pmCT until 8pmCT on Sunday at the Jamestown First Baptist Church, and after 8amCT Monday at the church.


She was born November 20, 1937 in Russell County to the late William & Orpha Dunbar Voils.

She was a member of Jamestown First Baptist Church and the Secretary for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Daniel Thorpe and a son, Danny Kay Thorpe.

Survivors include:
  • 2 sons: Terry Lee (Sheryl) Thorpe, Indianapolis, IN, and Thomas William (Theresa) Thorpe, Jamestown

  • 2 grandchildren: Matthew (Victoria) Thorpe, Russell Springs, and Anthony (Brooke) Thorpe, Garner, N.C.

  • 4 great grandchildren: Stella Thorpe, Jack Thorpe, Liddy Thorpe, Taylor Thorpe

  • 1 brother: Alan (Patty) Voils, Indianapolis, IN

  • 2 sisters: Jo Lynn Garrison, Jamestown, and Justine Crouch, Indianapolis
