Oliver ascends to president of the NAIA-FCA

By Chris Wells

Lindsey Wilson football coach Chris Oliver ascended to the NAIA Football Coaches Association presidency following the American Football Coaches Association Convention this week in San Antonio, Texas.

Oliver has been a member of the executive committee since 2014 when he was elected as 3rd vice president.

He served in that capacity for a year -- completing a term vacated by another coach -- before ascending to the 2nd vice president in 2015 and 2016 and served the last two years as the first vice president.

Oliver takes over for out-going president Todd Hafner of William Penn (Iowa).

The NAIA Football Coaches Association is an organization of collegiate football coaches at NAIA institutions. According to the NAIA, the NAIA-FCA elects officers who serve two-year terms and provide the leadership for the Association. The NAIA-FCA studies and makes recommendations through legislation of actions affecting the organization and administration of the NAIA Football Championship Series. All action items are forwarded to the NAIA National Administrative Council for final approval.

In addition to serving as NAIA-FCA president, Oliver is on the NAIA rater's national oversight committee and is the sport chair for the Mid-South Conference football coaches.

Oliver begins his 10th season as Lindsey Wilson football coach in 2019. The 2019 Lindsey Wilson football schedule is scheduled to be released later this month.
