Senator Wise introducing school safety bill School Safety and Resiliency Act will deal with counselors, security -- but not guns Senator Max Wise is introducing priority legislation today for the 2019 Regular Session, Senate Bill 1, the School Safety and Resiliency Act. The Courier-Journal interview Senator Wise yesterday about the bill, which will include budgeting for increased security and mental health at Kentucky schools. Wise said in the interview that the working group avoided gun control "because if we start the conversation with gun control, we could easily erode any bipartisanship that I think we need to have with this issue."
