Elbert Stephens, 83, Russell County, KY (1935-2018)

Elbert was a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Youngblood and Anna Lois Stephens; and by seven brothers, Curtis, Getha, Bobby, Jimmy, Ralph, Billy and Collis Stephens.

Elbert Stephens, 83, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Russell County Hospital.

Funeral service for Elbert Stephens will be 12noonCT Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Bernard Church of God with Bro. Lindsey Cornett officiating. Visitation will be from 9amCT Monday until funeral time. Interment in the Bernard Cemetery.

Pallbearers - Adam Stephens, Jeremy Radford, Jonathan Bronson, Brian Withers, Hunter Gray and James Gray.

He was born January 7, 1935 in Russell County to the late Alvin and Retha Stephens.

Elbert was a farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Irene Youngblood and Anna Lois Stephens; seven brothers, Curtis, Getha, Bobby, Jimmy, Ralph, Billy and Collis Stephens.

  • Three children - Sandy (Wayne) Radford, Jamestown; Tim (Julie) Stephens, Russell Springs; Richard (Deana) Stephens, Russell Springs
  • Nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren
  • Two sisters - Gladys Simpson, Russell Springs and Sharon Coffey, Russell Springs
  • Two brothers - Verlon "Bird" Stephens, Anderson, IN; and Hollis (Kaye) Stephens, Russell Springs
