Traffic Advisory: I65 at Exit 91 in Hardin County

Update: 2pm UPDATE - The utility company now reports they will not be able to do this work today. The line replacement and I65 blockage will be moved to 9am tomorrow (Friday, November 16th) morning. The other details from below are unchanged.

By Chris Jessie

Due to icing, a major power transmission line fell across the interstate on the south side of the interchange this morning. The utility company will be installing new line, requiring both directions and south side ramps to be blocked. Work has been scheduled for the blockage to begin at 4pmET. It is expected to take between 1 and 2 hours to put the new line up.

Northbound motorists will be diverted off the interstate at Exit 83 (Glendale) and over to US 31W to rejoin I65 in Elizabethtown.

Southbound motorists will be diverted off at Exit 91 (toward Hodgenville) and over to US 31W to rejoin I65 in Glendale.

This is being considered an emergency repair. Signage will be posted but motorists are advised to plan ahead if possible and choose an alternate route. Significant delays are expected. Motorists on I65 should be alert for slow/stopped traffic ahead.
