Clean Up

This article first appeared in issue 7, and was written by Staff.

The Heart of Adair will sponsor a "Trick or Treat for Trash" on Saturday, October 26 (National Make A Difference Day) from 8:00 a.m. until noon. We will begin picking up litter around the square and then branch out to the other streets downtown.

Volunteers should meet on the front steps of the Courthouse Annex at 8:00 a.m. to register. Fun, prizes and a clean downtown are guaranteed for all.

If your business would like to donate food, drinks or a prize for the drawing after the clean up, please contact Amy Waggener at 384-4224 before Thursday, October 24.

The goal is to establish a twice yearly clean-up to help keep our city looking great. Please use your Saturday morning to help us make a difference. This clean-up will also make us eligible for monetary rewards from the folks who sponsor Make A Difference Day.

Make A Difference Day is sponsored by the Paul Newman Foundation and USA Today to encourage individuals and groups to give up a Saturday morning to make a difference for their community. Thousands of people across the country participate by painting houses, cleaning up graffiti and performing other services.

For more information, please call Amy Waggener at 384-4224.
