New Giles Biography May Be Ready For Christmas, 1997, Author Says

This article first appeared in issue 6, and was written by Staff.

Diane Watkins long awaited biography of Janice Holt Giles is nearing completion.

The editor of Hello, Janice, says that she has completed 20 of the 30 or so chapters of the book and hopes to have it ready to go to the publisher in late November.

It usually takes one year from the time the first draft reaches the publisher until the time it is in bookstores, she says. That would mean that the book could be available for Christmas, 1996.

Ms. Watkins will be in Columbia in October to attend the next meeting of the Giles Foundation. "I haven't missed a meeting so far," she said in an interview from her home in Tampa. "I really look forward to returning."
