Bro. Cleveland Grant Johnson, 87, Russell County, KY

He pastored Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church for 44 years. To honor him special Music will be provided by Clear Springs Choir and Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Larry Bennett, Darris Bennett, Mike Foley, Wyatt Wooten, Anthony Grant, Riley Grant and Honorary Pallbearers all Preachers.

Bro. Cleveland Grant Johnson, 87, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Funeral service for Bro. Cleveland Grant Johnson will be 1pmCT Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Melvin Sisson and Bro. Josh Owens officiating. Visitation is 5-8pmCT Friday at the church and after 9amCT until the service. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery.



He was born June 18, 1931 in Russell County to the late Leslie & Sylpha Hopper Johnson.

He pastored Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church for 44 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alouise Wilson Johnson and a brother, Alden Johnson.

Survivors are:

Five children - Karen (Lloyd) Anglin, Jamestown; Rex (Becky Jo) Johnson, Russell Springs; Billy Joe Johnson, Russell Springs; Kim W. (Pam) Johnson, Shepherdsville, KY; Cindy (Derrick) Wooten, Somerset, KY

Nine grandchildren - Dr. Anthony Wayne (Kenna) Grant; Sarah Johnson (Ryan) Stephens; Hannah Johnson (Jamie) England; Rebecca Johnson (Chase) Skaggs; Jenny Johnson (Kevin) Frank, Lacey Johnson (Derek) Terry, Erica Sky Wooten; Wyatt Dirk Wooten, Syndey Johnson

Seven great grandchildren - Riley Grant, Linsey Grant, Lauren Grant, Callie Terry, Collin Terry, Ellie Wooten, Lydia Skaggs

Three sisters - Meredith Hopper, Eudell Wilson, Arbodella Clifford, all of Russell Springs

One brother - Argust (Cree) Johnson, Nancy, KY

The family requests memorials to Gideons International. These can be made at the church or funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Larry Bennett, Darris Bennett, Mike Foley, Wyatt Wooten, Anthony Grant, Riley Grant and Honorary Pallbearers all Preachers. Special Music will be by Clear Springs Choir and Grandchildren.
