LWC Women's Soccer open MSC tournament against Pikeville By Benjamin Riegger The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team travels to Campbellsville, Kentucky on Thursday, November 1, 2018, for Mid-South Conference Tournament quarterfinal matchup with Pikeville University at 10amCT on at Finley Stadium, Chandler Ave, Campbellsville, KY. The quarterfinals shifted sites due to impending weather in the Bowling Green, Kentucky area. The Blue Raiders (8-3-2, 6-0-1 MSC) finished their season on October 28 with a 5-2 victory over Life (GA). The Blue Raiders captured the regular season title with the victory over the Running Eagles. Amara Safuan recorded three goals in the game for the Blues Raiders while Sanna Svensson and Sina Cavelti chipped in with a goal each. The Blue Raider offense is led by freshmen forward, Sina Cavelti, who has accounted for six goals and six assists for a total of 18 points this season. Pikeville (2-15, 0-7 MSC) finished their season on October 22 at home with a loss to Life 3-0. The Bears offense is led by Reagan Bridge who has scored four goals and two assists this season. The Bears defensive effort is led by Erica Burkhardt, who has posted 130 saves. Burkhardt is ranked 10th in the NAIA and second in the MSC in total saves this season. Thursday's matchup will mark the 18th meeting, with LWC leading the overall series 18-0. The last meeting occurred on October 9th which resulted in an 8-0 victory for the Blue Raiders.
