The Paz-Holley Sunday open house brought back the smiles

By Mitzi Bault

This was an eye-opening day. In the past few weeks, I've had a few health problems. That, plus all the crazy hate in our country's news, and I have been feeling a little down.

Sunday afternoon I went with Linda Waggener to the Paz-Holley open house and saw so much love in the eyes of those ten little children - it was so heart warming; watching Jane Reed and Sarah Dean reading to them, coloring and working puzzles with them; to see Lisa Tucker helping two little girls washing their hands in their new sink; seeing Stacey Wilson helping the children discover their new swing set provided for the kids by Stacey and her Craig Bishop; and to see Rick Wilson and his family and Maggie Coleman and her family quietly helping people tour the house, guiding the very special event just as they had guided the fundraiser - all brought my smiles back.

We will be linking photos we made at the event today and through the week - to keep bringing smiles to all of us from the generosity which gave a home to this family of 12.

The list could just keep going - I am so proud of our county. Plus, after Bro. Troy Grider blessed the house and before we left, I got a good hug from my cousin / brother Doug Waggener and his daughter Jade.

Mark and Annie Holley, parents of five, and adoptive parents of five more children, were able to bring all ten to their new home Sunday, October 28, 2018, thanks to the community fundraiser project started last spring. The goal was to find a right-size home for a family of 12. It was completed, as chairman Rick Wilson said, God-led from the start. The money raised allowed for repairs to be done and preparations got underway right after the home was paid for. On Sunday, it was finished and ready for life.
