1 Dead, 2 critically injured after explosion in Breckinridge Co. By Trooper Scotty R. Sharp McDaniels, KY - Kentucky State Police Post 4 troopers and detectives responded to a report of an explosion in Breckinridge Co. Saturday morning. On October 27, 2018 at approximately 11:10amCT, KSP Post 4 received a call from Breckinridge County Dispatch requesting KSP investigate an explosion that had occurred at residence located at 731 Camp Green Shores Lane in McDaniels, Kentucky. The preliminary investigation revealed that the explosion was due to a possible gas leak inside the residence. Investigators say at this time there is no reason to believe that foul play was involved. One person was found deceased at the scene and two other individuals, Joshua Lucas (29) of McDaniels and Timothy Randall (56) of Science Hill, KY, were flown to University of Louisville Hospital with life threating injuries. The victim found deceased was taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville where identification and autopsy can be performed at a later date. KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the Kentucky Fire Marshall's Office, Breckinridge County Sheriff's Office, Breckinridge County EMS, Breckinridge County Coroner's Office and the McDaniels Volunteer Fire Department.
