Do We Have Businesses Over 100?

This article first appeared in issue 2, and was written by Linda Waggener.

Kentucky is looking to honor and give assistance to businesses 100 years of age. Do we have candidates in Adair County?

The Kentucky Historical Society, State Chamber of Commerce and Cabinet for Economic Development have launched the Kentucky Centennial Business Program-an initiative to recognize our state's long-term businesses. The program is intended for those businesses that have served Kentucky 100 years or more.

These enterprises are encouraged to complete a one-page application form and forward supporting evidence. There are no fees. Eligible businesses will receive statewide recognition, free use of the centennial logo on advertising pieces, a one-year complimentary membership in the Kentucky Historical Society and assistance with preservation of business records and artifacts.

Deadline to apply is March 29. The Kentucky Centennial Business Program is an opportunity to generate public recognition and to encourage CEO's to preserve part of Kentucky's legacy.

For more information about this opportunity, call Frankfort, 502-564-3016.
