LWC Volleyball heads to Shawnee State Monday By Clayton Barefield The No. 6-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team heads to Portsmouth, Ohio to face Shawnee State (Ohio) at 6pmET today, Monday, October 22, 2018, at the Frank and Janis Waller Gym, 940 Second St., Portsmouth, OH. The Blue Raiders (22-3, 9-0 in the Mid-South Conference) return to action after a ten-day break from play. LWC swept both Xavier (La.) and Fisk (Tenn.) back on Oct. 12 at Biggers Sports Center. The Blue Raiders are led by two MSC statistical leaders in Sarah Cruz and Grace Blomstedt. Cruz leads the MSC in kills with 310 on the season while Blomstedt leads the MSC with 97 blocks. LWC also boasts two other student-athletes who rank top-five in the MSC. Autumn Proctor is fourth in the MSC in assists per set with 653 assists in 73 sets. Lilo Larzelere ranks third in the MSC in digs per set with 311 digs in 71 sets. Lindsey Wilson also ranks in the top-10 in the NAIA as a team in hitting percentage and kills per game. LWC ranks number one with a .305 hitting percentage. The Blue Raiders rank third with 14.14 kills per game. Shawnee State (11-16, 1-8 MSC) returns to action after a 3-1 loss against Cumberland (Tenn.) on Friday. The Bears are led by Elaina Davenport and Carson Roney. Davenport leads the team with 499 assists, while Roney leads the attack with 260 kills. Tonight's meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Shawnee State is the second this season. LWC holds a 16-3 record over the Bears. Earlier this season LWC swept Shawnee State back on Sept. 22 at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.
