Zoie Sidebottom invited to participate in national program

The National Academy of Future Collegiate and Professional Athletes was chartered this year as a nonpartisan, tax-paying institution to inspire and support all high school and college athletes who wish to achieve their competitive potential.

Campbellsville High School sophomore Zoie Sidebottom has been invited to participate in a national program to help her become a better athlete and student.

Sidebottom, a volleyball player, will be a delegate to the Congress of Future Collegiate and Professional Athletes program, which will be in Boston, Mass., on June 27-29, 2019.

According to a news release, the Congress is a national program designed to help prepare talented student athletes to think, train, and thrive like champions, and to mentor them to compete at the highest level in sports, in school and in life.

Her nomination to attend the program was signed by Bo Eason, a former NFL player, Broadway one-man show creator and athletic director of the National Academy of Future Collegiate and Professional Athletes.

Sidebottom was chosen to represent Kentucky at the program, based on her athletic drive, determination to succeed and desire to compete at an elite level.

During the three-day program, Sidebottom will join athletes from across the country and all sports.

She will learn about injury prevention, maintaining confidence and focus, how to train for speed, strategies for recovery and nutrition and time management.

A team of elite coaches, legendary experts, decorated athletes and world-class trainers will serve as speakers and mentors to program participants.

"Zoie has the demonstrated drive, dedication and commitment to her sport to be able to develop a true champion's mindset," Eason stated. "Focused and determined young athletes like Zoie deserve all the mentoring and guidance we can give them."

The Academy will provide educational materials and experiences to help prepare young athletes for the challenges ahead and to keep them focused and true to their dreams.

The National Academy of Future Collegiate and Professional Athletes, based in Washington, D.C., was chartered this year as a nonpartisan, tax-paying institution to inspire and support all high school and college athletes who wish to achieve their competitive potential.

The Academy was founded on the belief that coaches must identify and support prospective talent at the earliest possible age and help young athletes acquire the necessary confidence, knowledge and focus to be the best athletes.
