Brown & Brown continues growth with acquisition of FNI

Brown & Brown of KY, Inc., the subsidiary of Brown & Brown, has acquired FNI Management Group, a Chicago-area finance and insurance company. Nasdaq is reporting that the purchase "will help Brown and Brown consolidate its Midwest presence."

According to an article on Yahoo Finance, "Post-acquisition, the acquired company will be part of the Brown & Brown auto, RV and powersports practice, and work with the Automotive Development Group team, which is led by Mike Neal, President of Brown & Brown of Kentucky, Inc."

Neal says the acquisition should be good for Brown & Brown's Columbia, KY office, writing "The addition of this fine company to Brown and Brown of Kentucky--and the addition of the business in the Greater Chicago Area--will strengthen the opportunities for our home base Columbia office to round out their accounts with our other offerings of Commercial Insurance, Employee Benefits, and Point of Sale Insurance through the dealerships."
