I really enjoyed seeing the photos ColumbiaMagazine.com made at Antioch church and cemetery in Casey County.

While there are many churches who have Memorial Day Services, this is one of the few who still call theirs a "Decoration Day" service and follow the old order of things.

Scenic Taylor Co., KY: Dolling up Campbellsville Alleys

2013-06-19 - Downtown Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Larry Smith, The Big Dawg, 99.9 FM radio. Campbellsville, KY is turning the alleys into more valuable assets. This one is part of the Citizen's Bank Main Street property. It started when visionary Mayor Bobby Miller paved the alley with red brick, recalling the days of early sidewalks of the early 1900s, according to Taylor County Historian Betty Jane Gorin Smith. The red brick paving is slightly raised to provide a low level rumble strip to slow down vehicular traffic and make Main Street a walkable campus - which is happening. That's an idea of current Mayor Tony Young, who also added the innovative archway, which gets regular changed flowers, watered each morning by city workers, utilizing the city water truck. Downtown business usually provide their own flowers and landscaping, and the city keeps them watered. The Citizens Bank building on the right was once the Alhambra Theater. The building on the left once housed a very classy Scott's women's clothing store. Larry Smith, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications
