The Columbia-Adair County Tourism Commission will have a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday, July 7, 2008, at 9:00amCT to officially open the "Gazebo tourism center", located on Jamestown Street in Columbia near the branch Bank of Columbia. I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone for welcoming Lt. Governor Mongiardo at our Annual Banquet on April 29th. Once again attendance was great, at over 270 and so many people commented that the Banquet just seems to get better each year. Congratulations to all the very deserving Award Winners. I would like to thank Sue Stivers and all others that commit each year to making this an event to be proud of for our Chamber.

The Chamber Roadside Park on KY 55 south is now ready to be used. Restrooms are open daily and another pavilion is in the process of being built. It should be ready to use in about two weeks or less (end of April 2008). Reservations for use of the large shelter are required. Call Kathy at (270) 384-6020 at the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce office, or stop by the office at 201 Burkesville Street in Columbia, KY.

Reminder: Chamber Banquet is two weeks from tomorrow
Rescheduled to April 29, 2008; new reservations deadline is April 21, 2008.
The Annual Chamber Banquet to be held Tuesday, April 29, 2008, beginning at 6:30pmCT at Cranmer Dining Center, Lindsey Wilson College. The event was rescheduled from April 15. Come enjoy delicious food, hear outstanding speakers, see community leaders receive awards. You may be lucky and get a nice door prize. You will also have the opportunity to hear about Abraham Lincoln as Blake Aaron gives the speech that won him 3rd place in the State Public Speaking Contest of the Lincoln Celebration. This year will prove to be the best banquet ever! You don't want to miss it! Reservations must be made no later than Monday, April 21, 2008. Cost is $15.00 per person. Redbuds seedlings, all 2,000, are here. Handout starts Monday

Two thousand redbuds have arrived at the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce Office, locate at 201 Burkesville Street, in Columbia, KY.
The redbud sedlings will be given away Monday, April 7, 2008, beginning at 1:30pmCT. Bring with you any kind of plastic bag, such as a grocery bag, or newspapers or anything you choose to cover the roots when you take your redbuds home with you.
The redbuds are given through a grant from Tour Southern Kentucky as a part of its Scenic Byway program.
The redbuds will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
