Gregory Lee Baldock, 57, Casey County, KY

Gregory Lee Baldock, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at his home. He was 57.

He was a retired Sergeant with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife after 16 years of service, earning the Shikar Safari International Officer of the Year Award. He took charge in starting the K-9 program with the KDFW. He was instrumental in the reintroduction and repopulation of the native elk and wild turkey in eastern Kentucky. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors, loved his animals, and most of all loved spending time with his family and friends.


Born on April 17, 1967, in Danville, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Paul Edward and Rose Luttrell Baldock. Greg was a gate hauler. He enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by a son, Ryan (Bethany) Baldock; daughter, Jessica (Tommy) Passmore; fiance, Tammy Patterson; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Larry (Tracy) Baldock and Tim (Joanie) Baldock; and his pet dog, Maggie.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Paul Baldock; and a brother, Gary Baldock.

The funeral service will be held at 2pmET on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 to 2.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to assist the family in offsetting funeral expenses.
