Jeanette Hayes, 72, Green County, KY (1951-2024)

Jeanette Jo Hayes was born May 16, 1951 and departed this life Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at her home in Summersville, KY, having attained the age of seventy-two years, eleven months, and sixteen days of age.

She was strong in her faith and loved church. She also loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. She loved anything handcrafted that was made for her. She loved slot machines, and she enjoyed going to the Senior Center and playing bingo.


She was united in marriage to Jimmy Hayes who preceded her in death in July 1996. Besides her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Kalua Shaw, her son: Rick Shaw, and stepson Michael Hayes.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter: Yvonne Hayes, son-in-law: George Anderson JR., stepdaughter: Rosemary Gardner, all of Greensburg, KY, stepson: James Gardner of Orlando, FL., grandchildren: Joshua Denham, Caleb Denham, Jessica Anderson, George Anderson III and wife Ashley, and Hawaii Gardner, and her great grandchild: Andy Anderson. Plus, a host of other great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Per her wishes, cremation was chosen. There will be a celebration of life service on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Brenson Bishop at 3pm central time.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Crossroads Program of Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church and those can be made anytime at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg or at the church.
