Letter: Sherriff Chesley Adamson (1850-1910?) my Great Grandfather

Jerry Adamson writes:
I am Dr. Jerry Adamson of Louisville KY and am researching my Great Grandfather, Chesley Adamson (1850-1910?) who was a sheriff according to my information in your area. I have a photo of him with a large star on his coat as he stands in front of his mule. He left his father in Corydon, Indiana and moved back to Kentucky with his wife at some point.

My records show that he was buried in Gentrys Mill Cemetery either in Adair or Russell Co. KY. Is there a way for me to check if this is correct? I appreciate any guidance that you can give to me.
As always, we recommend the Adair Genealogy & History Research Center, located at 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, to begin this sort of research. If any readers have helpful information, please use our Comment Form to send it in.
